Katikamu SDA secondary school – Wobulenzi is an initiative of four gallant men, Eriya Wamala , Hosea Kakumba , Phillip Kawesa and then area Gombolola Chief,Zakayo Kasozi . These four men fulfilled the objective of the Uganda Field Executive Director and went ahead to start a school “..for the good of their children…” Thus it was after under these humble beginnings that a school was born with Eriya Wamala as the first head head teacher. This gentleman was transfered to other places but returned to this same school several times. He was replaced with Elder Mwanje who later became a pastor, and at his death he was burried on this same hill of the school on the way to the the boy’s dormitory. Onesmus Muwanga followed in 1938 to 1939, then Kiberu Yokana Krisestom.
As education developed in Uganda, the school became a Junior Secondary school offering education up to the equivalent of primary eight. Pastor Kyambadde B. Stanely took over from 1954-1967. He is now a retired Pastor and a former Executive Director of the Uganda Union of S.D.A.
In 1966 , the system of eight years of primary education was phased out, and so Katikamu became a Senior Secondary School under the headship of late Pastor Kasozi Tamale in 1968. This is the same year that the present secondary school was born. Pastor Tamale led the school up to 1969, And when he was appointed the Education Director to Uganda Field, elder Ssenkumba Darlington who led the school through those tumultuous years of the famous Luwero triangle guerrilla war, replaced him, from 1970 upto 1985. Currently Mr.Ssenkumba is one of the administrators of the Najjanankumbi Young Christian School.
